What to use for my final project
If I could make the final clock project I would use the vinyl cutter, the 3D printer, and the laser cutter. I would use the vinyl so that I can cut out numbers to put onto the clock. I would use the 3D printer so that I can print out the three different hands for my clock, and I would use the laser cutter to cut out the shape for my clock. If I made this clock I would replace it with the clock I currently had in my room because I made it and would like to be able to look at it a lot and think of the hard work I put in on it.
Before online school started we used the vinyl cutter to make a couple of different things. One notable thing we made was our names to put on the front of our notebooks. That is why I think the vinyl cutter is a great choice for making the numbers on my clock. It is precise, accurate, and easy. I think the 3D printer is a great choice for making the clock hands because you can be very specific with your measurements. The length, thickness, and width are all very easy to adjust in makerbot to have a accurate and well done design.
I really wish I would have been able to do this project this year because it looks like a unique and fun one to do. It would most definitely take multiple class periods because using the different machines would take time since there are so many other students. It would also take a couple class periods to get everything put together and make it look nice. This would have been such a fun way to end off the year.
